What we will see

A panoramic tour of the vineyards of Franciacorta discovering the Brescian noble residences, the castles of Bornato and Passirano, the Monastery of St. Peter in Lamosa, the Olivetana Abbey of Rodengo Saiano and a tour and wine tasting in one of the local wineries. The Monastery of St.Peter in Lamosa was built in the 10th century by Cluny monks. It is situated in a panoramic landscape with a beautiful view of the Natural peat-bog Reserve of Sebino. It is possible to see the important works of art from the Medieval period to the Renaissance period.The Abbey of Rodengo Saiano was built in the 10th century by Cluny monks where they lived until the 14th century. When the Cluny monks died out the Olivetani monks arrived and stayed until the suppression by Napoleon. The Olivetani monks returned in 1969 thanks to Pope Paul VI. Inside the Abbey it is possible to see works of art such as frescos, paintings and wooden inlays by famous painters, for example Foppa, Romanino and Moretto. The medieval castle of Bornato in the past was a Roman fortress used to monitor the Roman road from Brescia to Bergamo with the tower, the walls, the drawbridge and the moat. Inside the walls the renaissance villa Orlando is preserved.
