Iseo

A guided tour through the historic centre of Iseo, an elegant town located between the hills of the Franciacorta and Lake Iseo. Among the most importants monuments is the medieval castle of the noble Oldofredi family, the ancient romanesque parish church of St. Andrea which houses a work by the painter Francesco Hayez and the church of St. Silvestro which preserves a macabre dance. In the Garibaldi square stands the statue of general Garibaldi and the small church of the Madonna del Mercato. On the facades of the richly decorated houses you can read the story of the country’s rich historical and cultural past. On the lakefront the statue of the writer and patriot Gabriele Rosa and the tourist port from where the boats depart to reach the famous resort island of Monteisola.
