Lovere one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and the tour of 3 islands
Iseo Lake
What we will see
The village of Lovere is located in the northern part of Lake Iseo. Its wealth is linked to trade as in the past it was one of the most flourishing trading ports on the lake. Today, in the historic centre, there is a medieval renaissance air and it is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Aristocratic palaces, houses, towers, squares and alleys overlooking the lake appear like an amphitheater. The most important, the noble palace of Count Tadini today, also known as the Tadini Academy, houses precious works of art by some famous artists such as Antonio Canova, Francesco Hayez and Pitocchetto. Another jewel in the village is the church of St.Maria in Valvendra, where its construction suggests the hand of the famous Comacini masters. Inside works by well known local painters such as Ferramola and Moretto are beautifully displayed. The visit ends with a visit to the the sanctuary of the Loverese saints built in a singular eclectic style both in the architectural forms and in the splendid pictorial decoration housed inside.
