What we will see

The Camonica Valley hosts small jewels of hidden treausures including the Romanesque parish church of St. Siro in Capo di Ponte on a rocky spur overlooking the river Oglio and the monastery of St. Salvatore of Cluniac origin which is a rare example of burgundian Romanesque in Italy. In Cerveno there is the sanctuary of the Via Crucis which houses a religious tribute from the population told through sculptural groups in wood and plaster composed of 198 statues housed in 14 chapels. In Esine, in the small church of St Maria Assunta, the colours are revived in the frescoes by the local painter Pietro da Cemmo
